Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, the Calcinaiola archaeological site will exceptionally open to the public for an open day organized by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Pisa and Livorno, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bibbona, SNAM, Tre Colli and Ares Archeologia e Restauro. During the works for the renovation of the Livorno-Piombino gas pipeline, an extra-urban production facility from the Roman Imperial period emerged, still under excavation. Archaeologists will be available to illustrate the discoveries and introduce this important finding to the community.
