On Saturday 31 October 2026 at 4:30 pm, the Biblioteca Comunale di Borgo San Lorenzo hosts a meeting dedicated to Giacomo Casanova, writer, traveller and man of culture of the 18th century, to recount his figure beyond his famous reputation as a seducer. Speaking is Ugo Barlozzetti of the Società Italiana di Storia Militare, who retraces the life and thought of one of the most multifaceted figures in European history. The theme is Casanova as a cosmopolitan intellectual: his travels, his writings, his relations with the cultural and scientific world of the 18th century. An opportunity to discover his lesser-known side, between literature, history and curiosities of the era. The meeting is promoted by the Comune di Borgo San Lorenzo and is held at the civic library, with free admission.
