The event celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the creation in Carrara, under the technical and artistic coordination of Dominique Stroobant, of the monumental Sardinian granite sculpture entitled Kontinuat II by Max Bill, one of the leading figures of twentieth-century art, architecture and design. A special screening of Ernst Scheidegger's documentary is scheduled at Palazzo Binelli, highlighting the fundamental role played by Carrara, its craftsmen, its artistic workshops and the local area in the creation of one of the most important sculptural projects of the second half of the twentieth century. The initiative is sponsored by the Comune di Carrara and represents an opportunity to give back to the Carrara community an important chapter of its cultural and productive history.
