From July 24, 2026, the Chiesa della Pietà in Rio nell'Elba hosts the exhibition of the Carolingian parchment, a fragment over a thousand years old consisting of two leaves of the Enarrationes in Psalmos by Saint Augustine. The artifact was found in the binding of the ancient Statuta Rivi and its original is kept in the municipal Historical Archive: on display you can see a photographic reproduction inside a case, accompanied by a multilingual video. The inauguration takes place on Friday, July 24, on the occasion of the closing evening of the Elba Book Festival 2026. At 6 PM in Piazza Matteotti there will be the round table "Quel che resta del naufragio. Un frammento pergamenaceo dell'anno Mille e gli Statuta Rivi", followed at 7 PM by the official opening of the exhibition in the Duomo of Rio nell'Elba. The exhibition remains open every day until October 2026.
Elba Legend Run 2026

Il 3 e 4 ottobre 2026 si terrà la terza edizione dell'"Elba Legend Run", una manifestazione di trail running organizzata dall'Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Outdoor Sports Festival. Il percorso principale di 65 km, con partenza e arrivo a Capoliveri, attraverserà anche il territorio comunale di Rio nella giornata del 4 ottobre, toccando sentieri e percorsi naturalistici del versante orientale dell'Isola d'Elba, all'interno del Parco Nazionale dell'Arcipelago Toscano.
