Barga Jazz Festival 2026 - 40th anniversary

Barga Jazz celebrates its 40th anniversary with a widespread edition that from July 19 to August 30 enlivens Barga and the towns of Garfagnana and Valle del Serchio (Calomini, Molazzana, Gromignana, Coreglia Antelminelli, Montefegatesi, Castiglione di Garfagnana, Sant'Andrea di Compito). The heart of the event is the 37th international competition for jazz orchestra arrangement and composition, scheduled for August 21 and 22 at the Teatro dei Differenti, dedicated to the music of Stevie Wonder with guest harmonica player Grégoire Maret. The final day is Sunday, August 30 with Barga IN Jazz: from 5 pm the historic center fills with music with performances by groups from Siena Jazz University and conservatories. Concerts also take place at the Bastione del Fosso and other evocative venues in the village.
Mercatini del Giardino
Barga (LU)
The Mercatini del Giardino return to Barga, with two appointments scheduled for Wednesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The event takes place on Via Roma, in the section adjacent to the Post Office. To allow the event to take place, a no-parking zone with forced removal has been established in the affected area from 3:00 PM to midnight on both days.
La novella di Caprona

Reading and narration of the novella of Caprona, in the setting of Casa Pascoli in Barga. The event is part of the festival "I Musei del Sorriso", promoted by the Territorial Museum System of the province of Lucca. Free admission.
