San Francesco tutto serafico in ardore
Sala dei Sindaci, Palazzo Comunale
On the occasion of the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis, Pontremoli is setting up the exhibition "San Francesco tutto serafico in ardore" in the Sala dei Sindaci of the Palazzo Comunale. The exhibition brings together three major paintings: the "San Francesco" by Annibale Carracci and "San Francesco receives the Stigmata" by Gherardo delle Notti (Gerrit van Honthorst), both on loan from the Museo di Capodimonte, together with a third painting. The setup plays with light and vision to evoke Franciscan spirituality, offering a tour that combines art and devotion. The exhibition is open from 18 July to 29 November 2026, with the opening on Saturday 18 July at 10.30 am in the church of San Francesco.
