The Municipality of Siena dedicates an exhibition to Alessandro Franchi, a Sienese painter active between the 19th and 20th centuries, a pupil of Luigi Mussini and his successor at the head of the Sienese Academy. The exhibition is on display from 30 October 2026 to 28 February 2027 in the spaces of the Magazzini del Sale, the Museo Civico and the Galleria G.O. (Cesare Olmastroni) of Palazzo Pubblico. The exhibition route unfolds across two floors of the Magazzini del Sale and reaches the Sala del Risorgimento, where the mark left by the painter in the decoration of Palazzo Pubblico remains visible; among his contributions is also the renewal of the costumes of the Corteo Storico del Palio. The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Siena and is part of the 2026 temporary exhibitions programme and of the Christmas programme 'Siena Incanta - Il Natale si accende'.
