Genius Loci

Genius Loci returns for its ninth edition from 24 to 27 September 2026 at the Monumental Complex of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence. The festival explores the spirit of the place through four evenings and a dawn event, with talks, concerts and original performances. Past editions have brought meetings, live music and site-specific installations to the cloisters, the basilica and the cenacle, creating a dialogue between contemporary art and historical memory. The programme, still being defined, will animate the monumental spaces in the evening and at sunrise.
Exhibition “Broken. Il potere del frammento”

From 25 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, Palazzo Strozzi hosts "Broken. Il potere del frammento", an exhibition exploring the fascination and expressive power of the fragment in the history of sculpture. Through over eighty works from the world's most important museums, the journey spans different eras and cultures: from ancient Egypt and classical Greece to Cambodia and Mexico, passing through contemporary art. The exhibition recounts the circumstances that led to the fragmentation of sculptures, from wars to natural disasters, from political reasons to deliberate artistic choices. An opportunity to discover how the fragment, far from being merely a loss, has acquired over time its own autonomous evocative power. In conjunction with the exhibition, reciprocal admission discounts are active with the Museo Stefano Bardini and the Fondazione Salvatore Romano, as well as a series of free guided tours reserved for Friends of Palazzo Strozzi.

Dal 26 settembre al 15 novembre 2026, il centro storico di Pienza ospita la mostra diffusa "Io mi rifiuto", progetto espositivo dell'architetto Edoardo Malagigi, organizzato dall'Associazione Spazio Giovani Pienza. Il percorso espositivo, inserito nei festeggiamenti per il trentennale UNESCO del centro storico, valorizza materiali di recupero e promuove il riciclo. I ragazzi dell'associazione saranno "Ciceroni per un giorno" e coinvolgeranno le scuole in laboratori didattici, culminando nella creazione di un'opera collettiva che resterà in città.
